Firstly, sorry for being so inactive on here. I have a full time photography job in a family portrait studio now and I am finding myself taking more photos than ever before, yet less ending up in my portfolio!
I am writing this blog because like many I am keen to travel, I have done so once before but it would never be enough for my itchy feet! Every time I start thinking that seeing more of the world could be a near future possibility I start worrying about how things would pan out job-wise. If I left Scotland to go travelling for 6months to a year, there is a high chance I wouldn't be able to get another photography job as fantastic and ideal as the one I have currently when I return, purely because there are so few to go around in Glasgow (or possibly anywhere). On the other hand, if I chose to go traveling for a longer period of time, what are the chances of getting a permanent job doing photography in another country. Its not classed as a skilled job like say a doctor, so chances of getting a permit to live somewhere is slim without having a job sponsorship.
So basically! Has anyone had any previous experiences with travelling around and working, or permanently moving to another country doing a 'not skilled' profession? Or even better, does anyone living somewhere incredible want to hire me?!
